Sometimes when I respond to people they don't take the time to hear me, and assume that I was ignoring them because I was deep in contemplation and on my way somewhere important.

But usually I do say "hey" and keep walking because I can't be late again.

In other news, basketball is NOT my forte. And yet, I had a great time playing this morning.
Today in running class we played Lightning instead of running. I got out first in every round because let's face it, I'm a failure when it comes to hoops. I couldn't pump up the jam if I wanted to.

Suddenly, it was the third round. The spot was chosen. Three point line, above the free throw line, shooting backwards. Chosen because it was the unattainable challenge. Logically that would make it all sorts of fun.

The game began, the ball was thrown to me. I stepped up, knowing I would only get this one time to throw a shot and predictably, miss yet again. So, instead of leaning my head backwards like everyone else and shooting the impossible shot, I turned around and glanced back for a second before blindly chucking the ball behind my head.

Unfortunately I turned around too slowly.

But what I saw was the result of a perfect arch making a slight swishing noise as it sailed through the net. I was astonished and overjoyed at the same time.
I exclaimed, "No way!" and everyone in the line behind me was cheering and laughing at my good fortune.

I was a loser no more. (Actually I still was, but I was that much cooler because I had achieved perfection.)

My game improved after that and I ended up winning the next round.
Some may attribute that to new found confidence, but I believe it was because the magical shot I made, gave me the ability to overpower everyone else

slowly,

but surely.

I am a fan of outrageous chicanery, myself. Willy nilly is also a nice touch. James didn't say anything about it...do you think they got it?

I'm sure they did. But I think they weren't having such a good day, so it probably didn't bode well with them.

Which is a real shame.
